Stephanie Santos-Owens

Voice, Piano & Choir

has studied voice for 27 years. In those years, she studied with a variety of teachers and coaches who came from all walks of life. This gave Stephanie varied musical influences which aid her in the ability to sing and teach several genres. From a very young age, Stephanie had a special connection with music. At 8 years old, she started taking private classical voice training and had the opportunity to learn languages such as Italian, German, and French. To make herself a more well-rounded musician, she also studied piano and percussion.  Stephanie spent much time taking master classes on singing, specializing in opera, art song, musical theatre, and belt style technique. She completed her music curriculum at the College of Southern Idaho and went on to complete the required courses for vocal performance, conducting, and vocal pedagogy at Boise State University. She is very appreciative of her many years of study because it has given her a better understanding of how the voice works and how to teach others to use it correctly and efficiently. Stephanie has spent many years performing leading roles on stages all over California, Washington, and Idaho. She’s had the opportunity to perform on the Princess Cruise Line and when requested, sings at weddings, funerals, and special events. One of her passions is to perform in operas and musicals. In 2011, she started teaching private voice and in the last few years has been music directing for the Sandra R. Courtney Playhouse. Stephanie studied choreographed dance for 10 years and taught musical theater for three years.

Stephanie says, “In my years of voice study and teaching, I have learned that there is nothing more valuable than to get one on one attention from someone that genuinely wants the best out of you.” She resides in Wrightwood, California with her husband and children and can't imagine teaching voice in a better environment.
